Services
Gleneagles provides nursing and personal care services, 24 hours per day.
A care plan is individually developed for each resident and reviewed regularly to ensure personal care needs are met.
Medical care is provided to each resident by a doctor or practitioner of their choice.
A wide range of therapies such as physiotherapy, podiatry and speech therapy are provided to residents based on assessed needs.
Service Standard
Gleneagles has successfully achieved accreditation in 2000, 2003 and 2006, gaining satisfactory ratings for all 44 expected outcomes in all four standards.
A copy of the most recent report from the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency can be viewed at the facility.
A Quality Committee and Gleneagles’ Quality Coordinator assist management and staff to implement and maintain the total quality management system and the continuous improvement of resident care and services.
Activities
Gleneagles offers an extensive and wide ranging therapy and social activities program which includes bus outings, exercise programs, a walking group, newspaper readings, craft and cooking sessions, sing-alongs, visiting speakers, entertainers, school groups and pet visits, games and quizzes, videos, hand massage, happy hours and festival celebrations such as St Patrick’s Day, Bastille Day, Halloween, Valentines Day, just to name a few.
Church services and visitations are provided.
A specific dementia program has been developed to provided meaningful activity and stimulation to these special needs residents.
Meals
Residents at Gleneagles are provided a nutritious, well-planned, seasonally adjusted menu, catering to individual needs and special diets.
Extra service residents are able to choose from an “a la carte” menu with a choice of main course and dessert and are offered wine and beer with dinner. Private dinner parties, themed dinners and happy hours are held for extra service residents.
In addition residents are able to enjoy a hot breakfast each morning and a birthday cake is presented to each resident on their special day.
Families are welcome to dine with residents but for catering purposes are required to notify the kitchen staff in advance. A small charge is made for such meals.
Visiting
Visitors are welcome at Gleneagles at all times, as there are no set visiting hours.
